It is both my privilege and pleasure to welcome you to Te Kauwhata Primary School.
We are a contributing school in the village of Te Kauwhata and pride ourselves on our place within the community and the sense of 'whanau' and 'belonging' that we strongly believe in and demonstrate.
During 2013 we opened our brand new garden area the 'Kids Patch' as well as launching our very own radio station - 'Listen Up' 107.2fm. In 2014 we were awarded our EnviroSchool's Silver award.
At the end of 2015 we were very proud to have constructed our Waharoa. The Waharoa was designed and carved by local Whanau and community and represents and embraces all that our school stands for.
TKP is a progressive school, embracing e-Learning with a range of modern devices as integral tools for supporting and enhancing quality teaching and learning in this 21st Century.
TKP is a PB4L-SW school (Positive Behaviour for Learning - School Wide), which builds on our vision and values of WeCARE. PB4L School-Wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school as well as an individual child perspective. We are in the infancy stage of the programme and we look forward to seeing how it supports our students to engage in their learning in the next few years.
As a staff we are a 'team' of learners who, like our students, learn from each other and welcome all opportunities to continue to grow our roles and competencies in these 'exponential' times.
Te Kauwhata Primary School is a great place to be!
Thank you, we welcome visits to our school.
We C.A.R.E.
Kind regards,
Brian Martin
Principal
