Te Kauwhata is my home town, with my family having lived here since I was only a year old. I loved growing up in this friendly community, spending my own primary school years as a student at TKP, way back in the 80s. In 2013 I moved back home to TK with my husband and our four children, and in 2018 I returned to the kura as a member of staff.

I am honoured to be one of the Learning Assistants here at TKP, supporting our tamariki to reach their individual learning goals. 5 years after starting in this role, I still wake up every morning excited about heading to work and spending my days surrounded by all of the inspirational students who attend our school.

My Sea is Hauauru.

My Sub Tribe is Ngaati Taahinga.
My Tribe is Tainui.
My name is Angel Tawhiti.

I am a Mother of 5 beautiful children, and Grand Mother of 3 handsome boys.
Te Kauwhata became home for us 5 years ago, after moving from Auckland we felt the need of a more relaxed lifestyle. I’ve been a learning assistant for 8 years now (5 years in Auckland). I am currently working as a Learning Assistant at TKP and I more than enjoy working alongside children as well as my peers.
Being a Learning Assistant isn’t just a job for me but more about making a difference in a child’s life. Laying a foundation and teaching them that anything is possible with the right awhi/support.

I come from a small piece of paradise on the Eastern Bay Of Plenty called Ōmaiō. State Highway 35! And proud.
I am a mum of 3 charismatic boys. My passion is children. From a young age I always knew my path would lead towards teaching of some kind. I find so much joy in being apart of children finding out who they are. All the bumps, leaps and adventures on the way to discovery. I love it! Our whaanau here at TKP are super supportive. You can feel the aroha all around. Having my youngest son here at TKP is a bonus.
