Te Kauwhata Primary School is situated in Te Kauwhata village which is approximately 3km from State Highway 1, midway between Hamilton and Auckland and within the Waikato District Council boundaries.
We are a contributing school with the majority of our students leaving after Year 6 to attend Te Kauwhata College, which caters for students from Year 7 through to Year 13. Our two schools enjoy close ties and relations in the interests of our students and the community.
Our school roll is increasing steadily during a significant growth period in Te Kauwhata. At present we have the equivalent of 11 teaching spaces. In our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams students benefit from a collaborative teaching approach. We have one flexible learning space.
We offer small group literacy and numeracy intervention programmes for students who require a 'little extra' to accelerate their learning.
The school offers the following facilities as part of our 'learning environment':
- solar heated swimming pool (terms 1 and 4)
- interactive teaching stations in all classrooms
- well-resourced library
- immaculate grounds
- covered assembly area
- children's gardens and enviro-themed areas
- two adventure playgrounds
- covered ways between all buildings
- well resourced classrooms and learning support areas
